The QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (QFT-Plus) test is a blood test used to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacteria that causes tuberculosis (TB).

As TB remains a significant global health concern, early detection is important for effective treatment and prevention. Unlike traditional skin tests, the QFT-Plus test provides a laboratory-based method to identify TB infection with greater accuracy.

This test is commonly required for employment, school enrolment, and immigration examinations, and may be included in routine health screenings.

• Reliability: QuantiFERON-TB has earned trust worldwide with over 100 million tests conducted and supported by more than 1,500 studies. Its unique CD8 T cell technology provides an in-depth analysis of a patient’s immune response to TB infection.
• Efficiency: The QFT-Plus test enhances the testing process by necessitating only a single visit from the patient, thereby streamlining the entire procedure.
• Accuracy: Demonstrating a sensitivity of over 94% and a specificity greater than 97%, QFT-Plus delivers reliable results. Its performance is not affected by previous BCG vaccinations, which helps in reducing the likelihood of false positives.

There is no fasting or any special preparation required.

A blood sample is collected at our clinic and then sent to the laboratory for analysis.

The results will be ready within 2-5 working days and sent to you through email.
