What is a 2D Echocardiogram?
A 2D echocardiogram, often simply called a "2D echo," is a type of ultrasound test that uses sound waves to create detailed images of the heart. The "2D" signifies that the images are two-dimensional, providing a flat picture of one section of the heart.
Why is it Used?
A 2D echocardiogram serves multiple purposes:
- Examine Heart Structure: It assesses the size, shape, and movement of the heart's chambers and valves.
- Evaluate Heart Function: It gauges the heart's pumping strength and checks for areas that are not contracting properly.
- Identify Abnormalities: These might include congenital heart defects, tumors, blood clots, or fluid accumulation around the heart.

- Non-Invasive: Unlike some other tests, a 2D echo doesn't require any incisions or injections.
- No Radiation: Ultrasound scans do not have any radiation risks.

How do I book a 2D Echocardiogram Scan in Singapore?
Generally, you are required to consult our doctor if you are a walk-in patient without any referrals. There will be a consultation fee of $35 before GST.

How Long Does It Take?
1. On average, most of our patients finish their 2D Echocardiogram tests within 30 to 60
minutes during off-peak hours. Please feel free to enquire about the best appointment
times with least waiting time.
2. The report will be ready in 72 hours and will be emailed to you.
